Through contacts in the music industry, Dan has undertaken a number of (digital) photo-shoots for musicians, affording him some freedom of expression.

Here you will find publicity photographs of pop singer Allie, country songwriter Roger Knott (& singer Haidee), The Bolivian Sunshine Dogs band, classical guitarist, & composer Martin Vishnick, singer songwriter Ian Roberts (of the band Tinker’s Lane) and percussionist & hammer dulcimer player Elsa Bradley.

In the days of film Dan also undertook publicity photography for pop, jazz and folk artists.  He has also provided images from his own library for a Nashville country CD and classical CD albums, including the Debussy Ensemble.

As an ex-professional photographer, with experience of the music industry, Dan enjoys helping musicians with professional publicity photographs.

12 days of film

Before digital cameras Dan used a wide variety of negative, B&W and slide films, depending upon the assignment.  The the images shown here however, were mostly taken on Kodak Ektachrome, which was Dan’s slide film of choice for travel photography.  Kodak gifted dozens of rolls of Ektachrome to Dan every year, as part of their support package to his training courses.  These photographs will be 20-40 years old, as they would have been captured between the early 1980’s and 2005.

Just as Dan’s digital images have been widely used and published, some of his film images have also been used for a variety of commercial purposes, most notably in the international PIC (People In Camera) magazine New York, as part of an article Dan wrote on photographic composition for them.

Here you will find film photographs of the English Lake District, The Isle of Mull in Scotland, Kenya, Morocco, Tuscany in Italy and Istanbul in Turkey.
